Before the start of the Campaign for a New Workers' Party conference, the CNWP is hosting a discussion on the way forward for the left and the fight for a working class political voice.
Speakers confirmed so far include:

* Simeon Andrews, Labour Representation Committee secretary
* Rob Hoverman, RESPECT co-ordinating committee

In particular, Bob Crow and the RMT, alongside PCS and FBU should take the lead! If they lead, they will take on board the disperate sections of the left, and crucially any new party or coalition would have far more appeal.

This is a major step forward. The Socialist Alliance has been arguing inside the CNWP for some time now that, as well as building a new workers' party from within the working class - amongst the trade unions, community and tenants groups, women, the black community, youth and all those oppressed by capitalism -it is also essential to try and bring together the disparate forces of the socialist and green left. Hopefully, this will begin that process.
